CDCs offer several types of care to meet your family’s schedule and mission needs.
Full-Day
- Up to 12 hours per day for children ages 6 weeks - 5 years.
- Includes breakfast, lunch, and snack.
Part-Day Preschool

A 3-hour program, offered 2-5 days per week, that focuses on social, emotional, and school-readiness skills.
Strong Beginnings (Pre-K)
- A 3-hour daily program for children who turn 4 years old by August1.
- Teaches early literacy, problem-solving, and classroom routines to prepare for kindergarten.
Before & After Kindergarten Care
- Available at many garrisons.
- Children enrolled in kindergarten receive care before and after the school day, as well as full-day care on teacher workdays, holidays, or school breaks.
Hourly Care
- Reserved or drop-in care for short-term needs such as appointments, meetings, or mission training.

Hourly care is offered by reservation when space allows.
Extended and Mission-Related Care
- Some CDCs open early or stay open late to support Military Balls, FRG events, training schedules, or emergency duties.
