The BOSS program focuses on four  main areas: Quality of Life, Community Service, Recreation and Leisure and Life Skills.

An emphasis on these pillars helps improve single Service members’ daily lives, connects them with their communities, and provides fun and engaging activities.

Quality of Life

BOSS gives single Service members a voice in improving their living conditions and overall wellbeing. The program works with leadership to address concerns and recommend solutions. Over the years, BOSS has led to improvements in

  • Barracks conditions and policies

  • Dining, transportation, and other on-post services

  • Fitness, recreation, and wellness programs

community service

Community Service

BOSS gives Service members the opportunity to give back to their community through volunteer work. These activities build strong connections, develop leadership skills, and create a sense of purpose.

Volunteer activities include

  • Assisting with local charity events and fundraisers
  • Supporting military Family programs
  • Helping at food banks, shelters, and youth programs
  • Conducting environmental clean-ups and community improvement projects

And Service members benefit just as much as the community by

  • Developing teamwork and leadership experience
  • Building ties with local communities
  • Growing personally and professionally
recreation and leisure

Recreation and Leisure

BOSS gets Service members out of the barracks and helps them make the most of their free time. Exciting trips, activities, and social events allow them a chance to relax, have fun, and build friendships.

Throughout the year, BOSS programs provide

  • Hiking, kayaking, skiing, and other outdoor adventures
  • Sports leagues, tournaments, and fitness challenges
  • Game nights, concerts, movie nights, and other social events
  • Group trips to popular destinations and other travel opportunities
